What we see most

Common cooktops faults — how we diagnose.

  • One burner out, others fine

Infinite switch, surface element, or induction coil — isolated repair, no full-cooktop swap.

  • Endless clicking after ignition

Spark module or a wet burner cap. We dry, retest, and replace only the failed component.

  • Induction zone dead

Coil, IGBT, or control board. Wolf and Thermador induction repairs are our specialty.

Brands we service

Keep it running

Cooktop maintenance tips.

Simple habits that extend the life of your cooktop and reduce repair calls.

  • Wipe ceramic and induction surfaces while still warm with a soft cloth.
  • Use cookware with flat, magnetic-grade bases on induction.
  • Avoid sliding heavy pans across glass-top cooktops — micro-scratches collect heat.
  • Dry burner caps thoroughly before placing them back — moisture causes endless clicking.
  • For gas cooktops, inspect burner ports yearly and clear blockages with a pin.
Cooktop care guide

Everything you should ask before paying for a cooktop repair.

The same questions our techs answer on the phone every day — written down so you can read them before you call.

Repair or replace?

If your cooktop is under ~7 years old and the failure is a single bad part, repair almost always wins. Sealed-system failures, multiple control-board faults, or units past 12 years are the cases where we'll tell you honestly to budget for a replacement.

What drives the cost

Three things: (1) OEM part availability for your model, (2) labor time — typical cooktops fall in the $170–$880 typical range, (3) whether sealed-system or refrigerant work is needed. The diagnostic locks the quote before any work starts.

How the visit runs

Tech arrives in the texted window, runs a full diagnostic in ~15 minutes, hands you a written quote on the spot. If you approve, most cooktop repairs finish on the first visit. If a part needs ordering we book a return slot inside the window.

Warranty + what's covered

Every repair carries 30-day labor warranty, 90-day parts warranty. If the same fault re-occurs inside the window we come back free of charge — parts and labor. Coverage starts the day the repair is completed.

Common questions

Cooktop repair — what people ask.

Diagnostic fee, warranty, brands serviced, and how we schedule.

  • Can I get an estimate or price quote for my appliance repair?

Yes. After our diagnostic visit ($89 diagnostic fee) we give you a firm, written repair quote before any work begins. The $89 diagnostic fee is charged on every visit, whether or not you go ahead; if you do, the repair is quoted separately, on top of it.

  • How long will my appliance repair take?

Most repairs are completed during the first visit, typically in 45–90 minutes. When a part has to be ordered, a second visit is usually scheduled within 2–4 business days. We confirm the timeline before you commit.

  • Does BestFix have a guarantee?

Yes — every repair carries our 30-day labor warranty, 90-day parts warranty. If a part we installed fails inside the warranty window, we come back and replace it at no cost to you, including the return visit. Warranty starts the day the repair is completed.

  • Do you charge for the service call if I don't repair?

Yes — there's a flat $89 diagnostic fee on every service call, charged whether or not you decide to go ahead with the repair. It covers the technician's visit and the written diagnosis; any repair is quoted separately, on top of it.

  • Which appliance brands do you service?

Every major residential brand — Sub-Zero, Wolf, Thermador, Miele, Viking, KitchenAid, LG, Samsung, Bosch, GE, Whirlpool, Maytag, Frigidaire, Electrolux, Bertazzoni, Fisher & Paykel, Dacor, Jenn-Air, Magic Chef, Monogram, Kenmore, and Amana. We're factory-familiar with premium European brands.

  • Is BestFix licensed and insured?

Yes — fully licensed and insured for residential appliance repair across Los Angeles County. We carry general liability and workers' comp; certificate available on request before service.
